一个富家女与一个穷学生的契约爱情。该片诠释了现代青年在为自己事业打拼的时候如何处置自己的爱情，在事业和责任感交集时寻找爱情，。骆应聪和程国劲同在调景岭长大，虽为好友，但性情却异，后聪和劲一齐考取台湾陆军军官学院，接受为期四年之军事训练。在往军校之火车途中，聪和劲认识了同校的林国正、凌仲文、吴国维等，抵校后，因劲之顽皮，与众人发生争执，入学第一天便已受处罚。教官林大卫对学员之训练，十分严格，各人吃尽苦头。毕业前夕，教官劝告林国正为身体健康着想，不要参加毕业实地野战演习，因林国正患病，不宜于野外行军。但林国正不愿格外开恩，宁愿冒险一试。于实地野战演习中，聪、劲、林无意中发现军火走私集团，惹来杀机，险象横生，幸凭各人平日之训练，不但能脱险，还将匪徒一网打尽，可惜林在途中脚部受伤，未能于毕业礼中参加步操，但终能与各同学分享毕业的光辉。。在小镇上，一个年轻人游手好闲无所事事，于是他决定去纽约碰碰运气。影片讲述了1925年发生在美国西部牛仔的故事，风格搞笑幽默。 A young man who doesn't find a job in his small hometown, tries his luck in New York, but is overwelmed by the life of the city, so decides to try his luck somewhere else after a only a few minutes in New York. He falls off a train near a ranch, where he tries his luck as a cowbowy, being in his own way very sucessful. But he shows what he can do when the farm has to bring a 100 head of cattle to the slaughterhouses of Los Angeles to avoid going bankrupt, against the will of his neighbour who wants a better price. After a shoot-out with the neighbour's men he's the only person on a Los Angeles bound train with 1000 cows....。
